Nepenthes × ventrata
Carnivorous plantsMood Meter: Needs a Little Love
Also called: Tropical Pitcher Plant, Nepenthes Ventrata
Vining carnivorous plant with leaf-tip tendrils that terminate in hanging tubular pitchers with lids.
Growth habit: climbing carnivorous.
Plant Mood Meter: Needs a Little Love
A forgiving Nepenthes hybrid, but pitchers decline quickly if light is too low, roots are mineral-loaded, or humidity/moisture is chronically poor.
Care guide
Bright indirect light. Direct sun: Gentle direct sun can be tolerated after acclimation.
Keep evenly moist using low-mineral water; do not leave the root zone permanently waterlogged.
Very airy, nutrient-poor Nepenthes mix such as long-fiber sphagnum with inert aeration.
Moderate humidity encourages reliable pitchers.
May trail or climb; provide support as vines lengthen.
